1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using CareerIQ, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. These terms apply to all users — students, institutions, corporates, and mentors.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure. Do not share your credentials.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to use CareerIQ.
  • One person or entity may not maintain multiple accounts of the same role.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent information (e.g. fake certificates, fabricated work experience).
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users on the platform.
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, spam, or stress-test the platform.
  • Use the platform for any purpose that violates applicable law.

4. Content You Upload

You retain ownership of content you upload (documents, profile information). By uploading content, you grant CareerIQ a limited licence to store, display, and process it to deliver the platform's features (including AI analysis). You confirm you have the right to share any content you upload.

5. AI-Generated Content

CareerIQ uses AI (powered by Anthropic Claude) to generate resumes, SWOT analyses, employability scores, and career roadmaps. These are provided as suggestions only and do not constitute professional career, legal, or financial advice. You should review all AI-generated content before acting on it.

6. Mentor Sessions

  • Mentors are independent individuals, not employees of CareerIQ.
  • CareerIQ is not responsible for the content, quality, or outcome of mentor sessions.
  • Any payment arrangements between students and mentors are between those parties directly.
  • Both parties must honour confirmed session bookings. Repeated no-shows may result in account suspension.

7. Corporate & Institution Users

  • Institutions may only view and manage students who have joined their institution via a valid join code.
  • Corporates may only contact students through the platform's official channels.
  • Job postings must be genuine and accurately describe the role. Fraudulent postings will result in account termination.

8. Intellectual Property

The CareerIQ name, logo, design, and platform code are owned by CareerIQ. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without written permission.

9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

CareerIQ is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee employment outcomes, mentor session results, or the accuracy of AI-generated analysis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CareerIQ shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these terms, without prior notice in cases of serious breach.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of CareerIQ after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notice.
